THE SURVEY OF SYNCHRONOUS LEARNING IN INDUSTRY

A six hour course designed to provide an overview of the concepts and elements of synchronous learning. The course will look at how to use these elements to address organizational training needs as well as provide best practices in the area of synchronous learning.
This course is ideal for individuals whose job responsibilities or future responsibilities include facilitating synchronous online sessions for their internal / external clients.

THE SYNCHRONOUS FACILITATION COURSE

Provides ten hours of live, online instruction blended with self-directed exercises and assignments. This program will help you to maximize the engagement of remote participants and manage the logistics of facilitating synchronous events. In each session, best practice tips for synchronous facilitation will be explained, modeled, and reinforced.

This class meets each Thursday from October 7th thru November 11th at 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM EST. The course costs $1,200 and LearnShare members are eligible for special pricing of $999.00. As an IACET Authorized Provider, InSync Training offers CEUs for its programs that qualify under IACET guidelines. THE SYNCHRONOUS DESIGN COURSE

Provides fourteen hours of live, online instruction blended with self-directed exercises and assignments. Whiteboards, Application Sharing, Record and Playback….. Sure, these tools all seem “cool,” but what good are they from an instructional perspective? Learn how to create collaborative exercises using synchronous tools, and how to design instructional materials to support your programs. In each session, best practice tips for synchronous design will be explained, modeled, and reinforced. Participants will design exercises and introduce them during the live sessions and receive feedback from the facilitators and other participants.

Classes are held each Tuesday from January 4th, 2011 - February 22, 2011. The course costs $1,200 and LearnShare members are eligible for special pricing of $999.00. SYNCHRONOUS LEARNING EXPERT CURRICULUM CAPSTONE CERTIFICATE

MEET THE INSTRUCTOR

Karin Rex

Since 1989, Karin has been, a computer trainer and technical writer based in southeastern Pennsylvania, where she devotes her time to writing, course development (elearning, synchronous and traditional), consulting, teaching, and speaking. Karin is the author of several technology-related books, including the following: Internet Search Techniques (Ziff-Davis Publishing), The Internet Illuminated (Skillpath Publications), and Computers in Clinical Practice (American College of Physicians). In addition to the books listed, Karin has written hundreds of user guides, reference manuals, tutorials and course manuals for a wide variety of clients. Karin is a pioneer in online learning, having been involved since 1996 as a course developer and instructor for a variety of online learning institutions. Karin is a certified synchronous facilitator, designer and producer with a master’s degree in professional writing
