New LearnShare VIP™ System Profiles Corporate Learning Vendors
LearnShare, a consortium of more than 40 Fortune 500 companies that share training courses, research and best practices, has introduced an online process that posts in-depth profiles of companies selling corporate training and development programs.
Called Vendor Identification Program (VIP)™, the system provides detailed background on firms that market e-learning courses, seminars and workshops, collaboration tools, learning technologies, and related products and services.
"There are thousands of vendors in North America promoting programs and services to corporate training and development departments," said Lois Webster, chief executive officer of LearnShare.
"VIP provides a protective barrier against an avalanche of sales pitches, while equipping training and development managers with an instant access tool for informed decisions in selecting the right resources to meet specific learning requirements. This includes courses, consultation, testing, and technology, and custom development of training and development programs."
For vendors, VIP is an opportunity to reach decision makers at corporations with human resource training and development budgets exceeding a billion dollars annually, Webster said.
"Companies with a proven track record in corporate training and development are encouraged to participate, and must be prepared to provide comprehensive information that allows managers to evaluate their products and services," she noted.
The LearnShare Vendor Identification Program™ is available to all companies. Consortium members pay no fees to access the system, while non-members will be charged according to the number of their employees. Based on their size, vendors will pay an annual fee starting at $500 to be profiled on VIP.
