These days information is more easily available and also much more easily leaked than ever before. Think of what is at risk -- intellectual property, customer data, employee information, credit card details, product plans, marketing strategies and more. If an individual is harmed because your company did not protect his/her identify, information security could be a life or death issue for that employee and debilitating to your company. If your company is regulated in some way, information security choices can put your standing at risk and possibly cost large amounts of money in fines.
