"E-Learning Best Practices"

Investments in e-learning are substantial, and yet utilization in some cases is low.  How do you reduce barriers and smooth the way for acceptance of e-Learning?   Whether your training programs consist of e-Learning or blended learning, it's likely that your employees aren't using web-based training effectively.

Keynote Presentations by:


John Higgins -- John Higgins currently serves as Chief Learning Officer for KPMG Consulting, Inc. In this role, John is responsible for setting the corporate Learning and Development strategy and direction for 10,000 KPMG global members. Under his leadership, KPMG Consulting has achieved 75% of all learning is technology-enabled learning. John and his team oversee the development and deployment of KPMG's leadership development and employee training programs. Under John's leadership, KPMG Consulting has distinguished itself as a leader in the deployment of simulation, blended learning, and e-Learning delivery. He also serves as a faculty member in several of KPMG's leadership programs. Prior to this position, he was a practice leader in KPMG Consulting's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions practice. As a member of the CRM practice, John launched KPMG's Call Center Consulting practice. Prior to KPMG Consulting, John was Principal in charge of IBM Consulting Group's Southeastern Networking. John received his Master of Business Administration with a major in international business from University of Miami and a Bachelor of Science in management from Nova Southeastern University.


Sonya Davis -- from Dow Chemical Company, winner of ASTD's Achievement in Excellence Award for E-Learning Practices. Sonya Davis joined The Dow Chemical Company in 1988 after graduating from Auburn University with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Sonya held a variety of engineering and supervisory roles in Manufacturing & Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, and Research & Development, before joining Human Resources as a Human Resources Manager in 1998. In 2001, she transferred to Midland, MI, into the Human Resources Development Strategic Center. In her current role, she is responsible for Learning Technologies, and Global Interpersonal Effectiveness Training.


Wendy Guerin -- Wendy Guerin works as a Training Support Specialist with Owens Corning University, which is part of Corporate Human Resources.  Wendy has been with Owens Corning for four years. As a Training Support Specialist, Wendy works in partnership with I.S. organization to provide company wide training support of PC Desktop Environment. She also trains and supports a network of desktop champions in various business divisions and facility locations. Wendy designs strategies/solutions, curriculum, and delivers training for new standard desktop applications/rollouts. She is also the Webmaster for Owens Corning University website.
